Space Command for Claude Code
Space Command for Claude Code is a Claude Code plugin that passes work between your sessions and Space Command. It copies a session's numbered questions to the Clipboard tab, and carries your answers back. It also tells a session which changes you made from the panel, and draws a map of your running sessions.
It's an early test. Version 0.3.0 is for early testers, and these steps may change. Tell us what works and what doesn't.
You don't need it. Space Command reads your folders the same way with or without the plugin, and you can still copy questions and paste answers by hand.
The plugin's hooks never write to your project folders.
You need Claude Code on a Mac, with python3 installed. Your edits need Space Command 0.146.0 or later, and answers need 0.152.0 or later.

Install the plugin
The folder has to stay where you put it. Claude Code keeps reading from it, so moving or deleting it stops the plugin loading. Your Downloads folder is a bad home for it, since one tidy-up breaks the plugin.
To install it:
-
Download the zip above.
-
Unzip it. You get a
space-command-claude-codefolder. -
Move that folder to your home folder, or somewhere else it can stay.
-
In Terminal, run these two commands:
claude plugin marketplace add ~/space-command-claude-code claude plugin install space-command@space-command -
Start a new Claude Code session.
If you put the folder somewhere else, use its path in the first command.
If you've added the copy-questions hook to ~/.claude/settings.json by hand, take it out. Beside the plugin, it copies your questions a second time.
Update the plugin
Updates are by hand, with a new zip for each version.
To update it:
-
Download and unzip the new version.
-
Replace the old
space-command-claude-codefolder with the new one, in the same place. -
In Terminal, run these two commands:
claude plugin marketplace update space-command claude plugin update space-command@space-command -
Start a new Claude Code session.
What the plugin does
Copies questions
When a session's last message in a turn asks numbered questions, the plugin copies them with a Questions line on top. The line names the session, the date, and the Git folder, so the Clipboard tab files the copy under its project and lets you answer it there.
Only numbered lines with a question mark count. Nothing is copied when there are no questions, or when the clipboard already holds them.
Sends your answers to the session
Send to Session, on a questions copy, hands your answers to the session that asked. The session reads them with your next prompt to it, or when it starts or resumes, and the plugin then removes them. See Sending answers to the session.
Tells a session about your edits
Ticking a box or adding a task from the panel changes a file, and a session may find a change it didn't make. When a session starts, the plugin tells it which changes in its Git folder you made from Space Command in the last hour, so it knows they're yours. It says nothing when there are none, or when the session is in your home folder.
What the plugin tells a session becomes part of that session, under Claude Code's own terms.
Draws a map of your sessions
Run /space-command:agent-map in any session to copy a map of the sessions running on your Mac. See Agent maps.
If the plugin stops loading
To see the plugin's state, run this in Terminal:
claude plugin list
If it reads Marketplace space-command failed to load: cache-miss, the folder has moved. Move it back to where you added it from, and the plugin loads again.
Check whether it's installed
Settings › Integrations › Space Command for Claude Code, in Space Command, shows the plugin's state:
| It reads | Which means |
|---|---|
| Installed | You have the version on offer, or a newer one |
| Installed · an update is available | You have an older version |
| Not installed | Claude Code doesn't list the plugin |
Download… downloads the zip, and Copy Install Steps copies the Terminal commands above. When an update is available, the button is Copy Update Steps instead. The row only reads Claude Code's list of plugins, and never installs anything.
Remove the plugin
To remove it, run these two commands in Terminal, then delete the folder:
claude plugin uninstall space-command@space-command
claude plugin marketplace remove space-command
