The focus card shows one item of a queue: "1 of 4". You asked to peek ahead and to skip without finishing, so the card can follow how the day is going. A steps through the queue on the card (decided); B, the queue opened under it, is kept for the record. Both skip with Skip. Neither writes to your files: the queue's order is already kept by the app. Try it: step with ‹ ›, tick a box, right-click the card.
Decided (the user, 2026-10-26)
Peek: ‹ › beside "1 of 4" step through the queue on the card (A, question 9). A peeked item's card goes quiet, with a dashed edge and no glow, and reads "2 of 4". Its box still ticks it off. Focus Now (primary) makes it the front, the same placement as Focus Now on a row. ‹ back to 1, or Esc, returns to the front. So do leaving the view, closing the panel (question 11) and a new day. The peeked item's row is tinted in the list below, so you can see where it lives. Keys: ⌥←⌥→, since plain arrows move through the rows.
Skip (question 10), first in the card's right-click menu, and beside Focus Now while peeking. It moves the item to the back of the queue until tomorrow (A, question 8), so the next one comes forward. Nothing is written, and the tag stays. When every item is skipped, they come round again in the order you skipped them. It's lighter than Snooze, which takes the item out of the queue until you bring it back.
The card's box is the row's box, on the left, as built: the mock's first round had it top right by mistake.
What doesn't change: ticking the front item offers the next, as now. Remove Focus and Snooze stay in the menu. The count leaves out what's finished and includes skipped items, since they're still waiting.
B, the queue opened under the card, is kept on the right for the record.
